I thought you Mactards said it wasn't needed. Apparently not the case
for this guy!

You have got to be absolutely brain dead.
Why do I need a built in card reader?  So my laptop can basically grow
to twice its current size?
Or...  I can spend a massive three bucks on one of these.

Wow!  Imagine that!  I can take it out of the bag when I need it...  or
leave it in there when I don't.
But you...  You are the ultimate God of portability.  Your card reader
is built in.  Consuming power.  Constantly.  What's your battery life?
An hour?

You realize you paid something on the order of $50 for your card reader.

Builtin card readers don't consume power when not in use.  And that $3
reader is useless to you if you need it and forgot to bring it.

You were the one complaining about not being able to connect your

a built-in card reader this thread wouldn't even exist.

But I don't need a built in card reader you troglodyte humuculous.

Are you blind as well as stupid?
Also, your "built in" card reader is simply a USB reader connected
internally via USB.  Check it out in Device Manager.  So basically you
paid for the same thing I have just with a bit of glue on the frame.
So yeah, my solution is easily better than yours.

You are quite incorrect.  The built in card reader is USB, just
connected internally.  Basically the same thing as mine.  Go in Device
manager and you can tell how many milliamps are being drawn.
How do you think the USB bus knows when a card is inserted or removed?
There's an interruption in the flow of current.
The USB card reader tits in the bag.  Taking up about one cubic inch of
space.
Also, my Sony cam works fine.  So it isn't a problem with this machine
or the OS it is a problem with the Canon Camera

The USB ports are there anyways.  Don't buy the power usage excuse, sorry.

With nothing plugged in they don't take up power.  When you have
something plugged in, they do.  With the built in reader it is
constantly plugged in.
Get it?  Not that difficult.

You can't.
