Subject: Please advise
Hi,

I took my 3yrs 8 months old son to the Tennis sessions held during
easter. He was the youngest in the group. He seemed to be alright the
first day. From next day onwards, he started crying when I started to
get him dressed for the session. He kept saying he doest not want to
play. He started crying before the group. He insisted he would rather
sit in the chair than play. He was very clingy. So I left him thinking
he would probably focus on the session if I am not there. He did join
the group after 40 min. But from the next day he just refused to join
the group. When I went to collect him, he was most awkward and his
hands were very cold.

I am angry for having put him through this awkwardness. I am feeling
anxious. Please tell me how to cultivate his interest in the game. I
feel that would give him the opportunity to socialize with other kids
and help him build his confidence.

Many Thanks,

Isa

Hi Isa, I think you should talk to your son see what sport he prefers,
if he doesn't want to pay tennism try something else, something he'll
be comfortably with. Try soft ball, football, basket ball, baseball
etc. Try palying each game with him and see what grabs with attention
the most and enroll him in a group that play that sport.
