I access my gmail account from my Treo 680 via the web browser.... at
mail.google.com... with the basic html view... yesterday when I
opened gmail on Treo it shows me all of my Inbox items, etc. BUT NOW
it is listing them showing the first few lines of the email but it
won't let me click on it to open the email... all other links on the
page (ie. folders) allow me to click and open... just not the
emails.... HELP! this is my only acess to gmail during the day...
work has blocked gmail for everyone.... the nerve!!!

My wife and I both have AT&T Tilts and we are also now having the same
problem. We can read the email when Moble or Classic view is selected
but when we go to the bottom of the email and select basic HTML to
view the email since many emails are webpages not text we can no
longer select any email to view, only to archive, report spam, delete,
etc. Very much a problem for us also as we can no longer view the
attachments, etc. which are part of much of our emails let alone open
the email when using the basic HTML view. I am sending a help inquiry
but I don't expect much help they never seem to read it and instead
send useless boilerplate answers having nothing to do with my
problem. Will keep you posted if I find a solution.

concerns to our team. In the meantime please continue to use Gmail in
the Mobile view during the day while at work :o)

Adrienne, I see from doing a search that the problem with the basic
HTML view suddenly disappearing has happened before. See numerous
posts during the summer last year, 2007.
What exactly is your team doing about it? Why was this feature
suddenly removed the beginning of June? What use is Mobile gmail
without the ability to open and use the links in the email which can
not be done in Mobile gmail? For the email accounts I have forwarded
I can just go back to opening those accouts one at a time rather than
having the convenience of forwarding them to gamil but for those
emails coming directly to my gmail account there is no mobile
alternative and I don't have the ability to use a computer during the
day unlike my wife so I miss many important emails since I can not
open them in basic HTML and select the embedded links. At least last
June according to the posts I read you could type in the basic HTML
URL and have the feature back. But I have tried that on my ATT Tilt
and all I get is an error page from Gmail. It is absurd to have a
link on the mobile gmail page and have it take you to a page where you
can not open the mail!!!!!!!!!!!
Would it be too much trouble to post some specific information about
what is being done to restore this feature?
By the way I have been to the Gmail help page and although there is a
paragraph at the bottom of the page indicating all emails are read,
etc, etc. there IS NO LINK so how do I make my complaint know?

Patrick, it does no good to ask. They never respond. Now there is a
problem with igoogle and no being able to see "My Stuff" which now
means I have NO access to gmail on my AT&T Tilt unless I want to use
the LAME Java version. I don't know what has happened to Google but
I am a very unhappy user. I now have to notify all those I have
sending email only to my gmail account to send it to my comcast
account. Maybe if they spent more time on Google and less time on
Yahoo the Google systems would be working better. You can see a full
account of the igoogle issue on the google mobile for windows but
searching for my screen name.

Has anything been done to fix this????? Is anyone working on
it?????? Seriously, I would appreciate some type of answer to this
besides "in the meantime".... it's been long enough! When can we
expect a fix?
